Quality management (QM) is a well established and continuous process at A.L.S. From the very beginning it has been a key part of the company‘s strategy to deliver high performance products of highest quality to the worldwide photonics industry.

Identifying customer needs
A.L.S. responds with a new and innovative product concept to the emerging needs of OEM-type ultrafast as well tunable narrow linewidth laser sources in the VIS – NIR spectral window. Customers can get both types of lasers out of one hand with proven quality, reliability and repeatability.
The physics of light generation and manipulations
Lasers are not equal Lasers. Subtle differences in the time as well frequency domain make the difference. A.L.S.’s light sources in general exhibit very low amplitude and frequency noise, clean spectral shape, very low ASE background noise. This translates either into pedestal free, low timing jitter ultrafast pulse trains or tunable single-frequency cw sources exhibiting narrow linewidth operation.
In order to meet highest reliability criteria, all critical components (e.g. pump lasers) used in A.L.S. lasers are qualified either according to Telcordia GR-468, MIL-883 or MIL-O-13830A.
A.L.S. operates class 10’000 cleanrooms with separated class 1’000 areas for assembly and manufacturing. Assembly of the lasers is accomplished according to strict procedures ensuring maximum reproducibility.
Each laser module runs extensive predefined tests before it is shipped to the customer. All core specifications are monitored and measured before shipment and included in the shipment.
